I will go over what cybercrime is, how much it is affecting the United States, possible ways of enforcement and why or why not enforcement would be effective. What is a cybercrime, in your own words? Cybercrime is using computers or technology in order to steal information or to create fake identities over the World Wide Web. It is a growing problem in the world today, especially in countries like China, Japan and the United States where populations are high. Phone scams are another type of cybercrime as people will try to glean vital information from another by pretending to be a grandchild or a salesman. Cyberspace allows people to invade another person’s or company’s computer and download sensitive materials such as social security numbers, birth certificates and tax information. What is the extent of cybercrime in the United States? Computerescape. om says that â€Å"Cybercrime is widespread throughout the United States with 73% of American internet users being victims of cybercrime, either through viruses, online credit card or identity theft†*. With over 300 million Americans in the US, that comes out to 219 million Americans that have been or are currently victims of a cybercriminal. Most of the victims of identity theft are infants and the elderly. My own infant cousin had his social security number stolen shortly after his death. It took several months to recover it. How do you think we should control / enforce cybercrime? I personally believe that the only way to control cybercrime is to attach a major virus to sensitive files, so that when an unauthorized person tries to access it, it attaches itself to that person’s computer, downloads any information regarding the owner of the computer, sends that information to the authorities, and finally scrambles all data on the computer. The authorities will then be able to make an arrest and unscramble the computer so that evidence can be obtained. The offender should then have an appendage cut from their body on national television, so that others thinking of committing the same crime will hopefully be deterred. If the person should offend again, then they should be stoned until dead by the people that they have stolen from. Do you think enforcement can be effective? Why or why not? I don’t think that any type of enforcement would be effective as tracking anything in cyberspace is time consuming and if the person was determined enough, they would find a way around the enforcement. Security cameras are an excellent point. You can have the main points of a store being watched by cameras, but the only places you have issues with theft is in the cameras blind spots. A security system will alert you if someone comes in through a door or window, but isn’t programmed to respond if a person decides to cut a hole in the wall or ceiling and enter the premises without ever tripping the system. If someone wanted to commit a robbery and they knew that a police patrol car passed by every 45 minutes, they would wait until 10 minutes after the patrol car had passed and then rob the business, knowing that it would be at least another 10 minutes before police could respond. Criminals will always find a way to circumvent the enforcers of the law.

Demographic Profile of Perth and Kinross PERTH KINROSS: DIVERSITY DEMOGRAPICS Q. Assess the demographic profile of Perth and Kinross as evidenced in the 2001 council  census. How might this demographic profile impact on community care? The most important revelation of the Scottish Census of April 29th 2001 was that the ethnic minority population of Scotland had risen by 63% between 1991 and 2001; whilst the White Scottish population has remained almost static at 1.3%. Moreover, whilst the ethnic minority profile is getting younger, the White Scottish profile shows a greater percentage of members of retirement age. The story then of the 2001 Census was essentially one of growing diversity in Scottish demographics. This brief essay considers the demographic results of the 2001 census for the Perth Kinross area, and the implications of these population shifts for the councils of Perth Kinross who will have to, in the near future, take the ethnic minority profile of their area into greater account in their educational, religious and social planning. Firstly, let us consider some of the general features of the demographic profile of Perth Kinross as detailed in the 2001 Scottish Census[1]. The total population of Perth and Kinross in 2001 was 134,949; of this number around sixty percent were of employable age. Of this sixty percent 134,949 5,241 economic and social migrants left the area and 5,442 entered (an increase in entry of 201). Of the migrants who left Perth and Kinross 4,193 were of working age whilst only 3,993 of those who entered were of working age (a fall of 202). Thus these figures tell that on the whole Perth and Kinross received an increase number of migrants into the area, though the percentage of economic migrants eligible to work fell. The origins of the migrants entering Perth and Kinross were as follows: 58% were from elsewhere in Scotland, 19% from England and Wales, 13% were of unknown origin, 10% came from elsewhere in the world and less than 1% came from Northern Ireland. 23.21 % of households in Perth % Kinross have members who hold and practise different religions from other members of that household; whilst the number of households where various members are of different ethnic origins is 0.74% (compared with Scottish average of 0.97%). Turning to ethnic diversity in particular, the Scottish Census found that Scotland now has just over 100,000 citizens of ethnic minorities; this amounts to two percent of the national population of Scotland. In Perth Kinross the population that belongs to ethnic minorities represents 1% and this is 1.3% of the total ethnic minority population living in Scotland. Nationally, and in Perth Kinross also, Pakistanis represent the largest ethnic minority population, followed by Chinese, Indians and then citizens of a mixed ethnic background. Of the total ethnic minority population over 70% are Asian: Pakistani, Chinese, Bangladeshi, Indian or other South Asian. The next largest group are those people who describe themselves as of a mixed ethnic minority and these represent 12% of the ethnic minority population. These figures represent a significant overall increase in the total ethnic minority population of Perth Kinross in comparison with the 1991 census. Whereas the whole population r ose by only 1.3% from 1991 to 2001, the ethnic minority population jumped by 63% (and likely much more due to the fact that figures of asylum seekers and illegal immigrants are not included in the census). An interesting feature of the demographic profile of the ethnic minority population is that (excepting Caribbeans) all other ethnic groups have 20% or more of their population aged sixteen or less (the Mixed Group percentage is 44%); whilst the figure for White Scots is 16.96%. Correspondingly, the ethnic minority population in Perth Kinross has a smaller elderly population than the White Scottish population. What then do these figures tell about the ethnic diversity of Perth Kinross, and how do such findings impact upon policies of community care? The first important observation about the ethnic minority profile is clearly the leap of 63% between 1991 and 2001 – a figure almost fifty times higher than the growth of the White Scottish population. Perth Kinross however has only 1 of the total ethnic minority population of Scotland; the highest percentages being in major cities such as Glasgow (31%) and Edinburgh (18%). Moreover, the relative youth of the ethnic minority populations suggests that in the next decades they will produce a (relatively) higher percentage of citizens of working age; whilst the ageing White Scottish population will require a growing level of support in their retirement. In light of these changes, Perth Kinross councils now have to begin community projects that reflect the growing diversity of its population. Schools, for instance, ought to have citizensh ip classes in which the virtues of ethnic diversity, ethnic tolerance, and religious tolerance are taught. Special classes should be arranged for Non-White Scottish children where necessary; likewise, teachers should be aware of the religious practices of schoolchildren. Where there are large ethnic minority communities local councils might consider providing suitable facilities: mosques (and other religious buildings), community centres and so on. In the final analysis, it seems evident from the demographic profiles of the 1991 and 2001 censuses that the population of Scotland generally, and Perth Kinross also, is experiencing a rapid percentage increase of members who belong to an ethnic minority. What is more, this increase seems likely only to accelerate and to penetrate the more rural parts of Scotland as well as its cities. Accordingly, the Perth Kinross council must make preparations to meet the religious, educational, and social needs of their rising ethnic minority populations. At the same time, the local White Scottish population and ethnic minority communities must learn an increasing tolerance for the cultural and religious outlooks of one another. Alternative Fuel Vehicles Slowly but surely our nations natural resources are running out. In the near future our fossil fuels that we use to power our lives will be gone. As the years pass research of alternative fuels is becoming more and more imperative. Most important of all in the research of alternative fuels is that of alternative fuel vehicles (AFV). More emphasis should be put on the development of alternative fuel vehicles, because as each year passes our fossil fuel reserves decrease, there are great environmental benefits, and there are great future cost reductions. Others believe that some of the possible alternative fuels are unsafe, that there aren ¡Ã‚ ¦t sufficient alternatives to perform as well as gasoline, and that alternative fuel vehicles are just a fad. Through research conducted these false claims will be put to rest. The need for alternative fuel research goes back to the start of the 1990 ¡Ã‚ ¦s. Based on a statement from the California Energy Commission, during the 20th century energy has become more easily available, especially that of fossil fuels. Countries all over the world including our own depend on fossil fuels to not only generate electricity but also for use in vehicles. Each year more oil wells are found but how long will this last? This question has recently become a major reason for discussion in the governments all over the world, none more so than our very own country which consumes a huge percentage of the worlds oil supply. According to the California Energy Commission (CEC), fossil fuels are cheap and relatively easy to obtain. Once burned, however, fossil fuels cannot be used again, and they release gases such as carbon dioxide into the air. E1. Collate evidence which describes the role of the practitioner in working towards a healthy lifestyle and environment for children. In this section I will cover the role of the practitioner in working to provide children with a healthy lifestyle and how it is really important of making sure that the child gets everything they need to stay healthy. There are many different ways the practitioner can promote a healthy lifestyle and this can be done through: Activities children can do to understand and gain a healthy lifestyle: Reading booksRole play- farm shop Physical games- running, riding bikes and scooters and soft play area Spending time washing hands after going to the toilet, before eating or after sneezing Brushing your teeth (not all settings do this but some do to encourage children to be able to brush their teeth on their own) Singing songs that can help children to understand about healthy foods and not healthy. It is important not to tell children that crisps and chocola te is not good for you because they may not want to eat it.There is no good or bad food it is just a case of balancing the child’s diet so it is part of the practitioner’s role to provide healthy snacks and meals to ensure that they are getting their five-a-day. Having tick charts can be a good way to promote a healthy lifestyle. By ticking off each day what the child has had to eat can encourage them to eat more healthily. Daily exercise- children like to run around but for those who like to sit quietly, the practitioner should plan activities to include those children so they are getting the exercise they need in order to have a healthy lifestyle.E2. Provide information about legislation which supports the rights of children to a healthy lifestyle. Here are some legislations that support the rights of children: LEGISLATION DESCRIPTION Human Rights Act 2000 This act was designed to give children the same rights as adults. United Convention on the Rights of the Child T his act seeks respect that children have a right to and deserve. Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 This act is designed to make sure that adults working with children and other vulnerable groups are vetted not just in childcare but also in other organisations.Childcare Act 2006 This act incorporates the welfare standards with which all settings with children under the age of eight use the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) This act states which substances which can make people ill or injure themselves must be stored and used in the proper manner. Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR) 1995 This act requires the recording of any accidents or illnesses at the setting or work placement.E3. Provide information about a range of factors which may affect children’s health and well-being at differing times in their lives. Factors that affect the health of children: Poverty St ress Pollution Housing Unsafe environments Low birth weight Smoking Drug and alcohol misuse during pregnancy Lifestyle Families and community Illness and disability Most of these factors have a negative factor on a child's health but some of them can have a positive effect. For example a child's lifestyle can make a huge difference to his health.If a child is eating a well-balanced diet then the child's health would be a good one because he is getting all the nutrients and vitamins he needs. And it a child is very active the child can benefit from this because as they grow older the exercise they have done while they are young will enable them to do a lot more things when they are older. E4. Include evidence of the effects of these factors on children’s health. These are the consequences that the factors stated in E3 that affect a child’s health: SmokingSmoking during pregnancy can result in the child being smaller, having a low birth weight and the child is more likel y to suffer from asthma when they are older or at a very young age. Poor housing Poor housing can affect children’s health through dampness, over-crowding and infestation of insects and other vermin. Poverty If people are living in poverty they will not be able to require adequate housing which will then affect their health as mentioned above. Department of Health states that â€Å"families living in poverty are less likely than other families to access health and other supportive services.In addition to this children will be more susceptible to obesity tooth decay and unnecessary injury†. Some children may already be exposed to diseases but are not diagnosed until something happens to trigger it. E5. Include examples of different routines for children which will maintain a healthy lifestyle. All children need a routine otherwise they will get really confused and it may cause them to be distressed. Below is an example of a routine for a one year old. Toys broken 3:00 Home time Spends the rest of the day with parents No risk It is really important that a routine is followed with any child because it keeps them safe, promotes a healthy diet, allows time for the child to exercise whether it is through play or physical activity, keeps the child stimulated, allows them to have times of sleep and rest, promotes hygiene, builds a child’s independence and it shows the child love and affection.Not all children follow the same routine so the practitioners need to plan and put together routines for children who have spec ific needs so they will not be left out otherwise they could develop self- esteem and self-confidence problems when they are older. (ref E8) E6. Include descriptions of TWO activities which are suitable to use with children to promote a healthy lifestyle. There are many activities for children that enable the practitioner to promote a healthy lifestyle. For example, at placement I have come up with an activity promoting hygiene.I have noticed that some children do not like to use soap so the activity I have come up with an idea that allows children to make their own soap that they can use to stay hygienic and prevent germs. It also gives the children a sense of independence and ownership. Below is a recipe for making soap. Instructions Set a kitchen vegetable grater into a large bowl, and give it to your child. Show her how to grate a white or light-colored bar of soap into the bowl. You’ll need one cup of soap shavings. Ask her to split the shavings into four smaller bowls. Give your child a bowl of warm water and a spoon.Have her to dip the fingers of one hand into the water and shake it into one of the bowls of soap shavings. Add several drops of liquid food coloring, and ask her to stir the mixture. Add more coloring drop by drop to deepen the shade until she’s happy with it. Have her scoop the blob of soap out of the bowl and knead it into a ball. Ask her to knead, pinch, pull, stretch and generally mess with it until it’s pliable with the consistency of Play-Dough. If it’s too stiff, add a few more drops of warm water. Show your child how to pinch off small pieces of the soap dough ball and form them into shapes.Roll a ball of dough into a cylinder about ? -inch thick or a little larger to make a fat crayon for pudgy fingers. Encourage her to create silly animals, geometric shapes or anything else that she can think of. Press some of the dough into the cells of ice trays for some uniformly shaped soap crayons. Line a cookie sh eet with paper towels. Arrange the completed shapes on the towels with space in between them. Put the sheet of soap shapes and the ice trays into the freezer for 10 minutes. Remove the cookie sheet and the ice trays from the freezer. Pop the crayons out of the ice trays and add them to the shapes on the cookie sheet.Set the tray of soap crayons in a cool, dry spot for two days to harden and dry thoroughly. When doing an activity with children the practitioner must be aware of each individual child’s needs and capabilities. For example, some of the children may not like the feel of the soap in their hands when in the stage of molding it together so when I come to do this activity I will put out spoons so the children have the choose whether they want to use spoons or not. This way none of the children will be left out just because they did not like the feel of the soap. This way I am showing a diverse and inclusive practice. (ref E8. )

ABC Church essays The ABC Baptist Church has a membership of about 500 members and is having difficulties managing interoffice correspondence and membership information such as tax reporting for membership, calendars, of events, printing of programs, and recording of offerings. ABC Baptist Church now uses out of date hand written manual input of all information. They also use a very expensive outside printing company for all of their correspondence and church programs. The church has hired a new minister; and, his innovative ideas include leading our church is increasing our membership about 8 per cent each month. He is trying to improve the churchs accountability to its members, improve accounting procedures, reporting, and implement changes to help the church save money on printing costs which has skyrocketed since the membership has started. Since this is an old established church, we have many is the congregation who are not ready for the changes that he has suggested, the board of trustees decided to committee of church members consisting of several members who owned their own business, heads of church departments(such as the Sunday School and Missions), the Deacons and Deaconess board, the Accountants and the church secretaries to evaluate our current procedures and develop requirements that the church needs. All of the members of this committee should eventually be involved in the usage of the equipment. The committee decided on how many people should initially use the system. The security of the system, the need for the system to be user friendly, and the fact that the committee did not have the expertise to handle the problem were all problems that the committee related to the board. The committee decided to suggest an analysis of our current procedures done by an outside consultant.
